Neon Genesis Evangelion

Originally airing in 1995, Neon Genesis Evangelion is widely considered one of the most influential and significant anime series of all time. Set fifteen years after a global cataclysm known as the Second Impact, the story follows teenage pilots—most notably Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami, and Asuka Langley—who are tasked by the organization NERV with piloting massive bio-mechanical constructs called Evangelions to combat mysterious beings known as Angels.

While it begins as a standard "giant robot" show, it famously evolves into a deep psychological and philosophical exploration of loneliness, trauma, and the human condition. In the figure world, "Eva" is a permanent staple. The series is unique because it appeals to two distinct markets: Mecha collectors who hunt for the intricate, lanky designs of the EVA Units, and Bishoujo collectors who focus on the iconic plugsuit designs of the female pilots.
